The Quest 3 and the Meta Quest 3S have virtually identical features. That's pretty favorable when you consider how good the original Quest 3 is and how much lower the price of the 3S is.

The VR kit is equipped with a Snapdragon XR2 Gen2 CPU and 8 GB of DRAM. It is to be noted that this may favor the Quest 3S over a device that is actually more powerful: games that have more visual requirements could run better on Quest 3S due to the lower resolution, although of course this also leads to a slightly lower visual quality.
The lower price of the Quest 3S is due to different lenses and resolution. Unlike the Quest 3S, which puts 3.5 million pixels on the screen, the older Quest 3 features 4.5 million pixels. The Quest 3 offers a resolution of 2064 by 2208, while the 3s has a resolution of 1832 by 1920.
The lenses used for the new VR glasses are considered to be of slightly lesser quality than the more recent and more durable pancake fries.
However, you don't have to worry too much about this. The picture is really fantastic! Only if you switch straight from the Quest 3 to the Quest 3S will you notice the difference. But few people will.
The three-mode IPD/IAD option on the Meta Quest 3S is actually a step down from the one on the Quest 3, which was developed with a more optimized method. But again, you won't notice much of a difference.
