The array of color cameras on the front of Meta's Quest 3 virtual reality headset unveiled last year is perhaps the most notable of the many significant improvements over the Quest 2. Compared to the previous generation's grainy black-and-white video, this enables superior AR (Augmented Reality). Improved AR cameras lead to enhanced mixed reality, which in turn leads to a whole new category of pornography. There are several headsets with front-facing cameras than the Quest 3. Front-facing cameras can be found in PC-based headsets such as the HTC VIVE Pro 2 and, for example, the very expensive Apple Vision Pro. However, sales of the very reasonably priced Quest 3 are spurring the development of AR porn, but the genre is still in its infancy and, as with any invention, it may take a while before it becomes a mature product. And also, you have to assume that it will cost you something in terms of money. At least if you want good quality AR. And you want that!

How do you use a Meta Quest 3 to watch porn in virtual reality?

When using a VR headset, there are essentially three "levels" of pornography. The Quest 3 works exactly the same as any other VR headset for the first two: streaming video only and streaming "immersive" 3D media. These are the basics of streaming porn in virtual reality. • Provide a fast connection: Because streaming VR content requires transferring large files to your headset to function. With a slower connection, you will have to down-resize the content or suffer from buffering (usually at inopportune times). My cable modem works flawlessly.
• Install the free DeoVR app: You can download this software directly from your headset or from Google Play or the Apple software Store. Although you can use this free VR video player and browser to watch all kinds of content, you can also use it for watching AR porn!
• Join a website that generates AR porn:  Not very many companies offer it yet. And when they do offer it, it is often limited to a few videos. But there is clearly an upward trend, and the quality of the videos is getting better and better, too!

My personal favorite AR porn site right now is CzechAR. And I get that paying for porn isn't really going to please anyone but I still really recommend it. Unlike old-fashioned 2D porn, you really are better off pulling out your wallet. If that doesn't work then you can always look for some other free websites that offer drop-in AR porn. Tips for making the most of AR pornography

• 1: Provide a large open space: To make the AR experience work optimally, you usually need a fairly large space.
• 2: Check that it is well lit: In general, the pass-through cameras on your headset work better in well-lit environments. Technology allows more and more but always remember: the more light, the better!
• 3: Adopt the right posture: VR porn is often shot from a still camera, which means the viewpoint is either sitting, lying down or standing. It doesn't look good if you're not exactly in that spot. It can be helpful to click the pass through button (looks like an eye) to view the scene without removing the blue screen.

• 4: Align the video content: Try to pair the visual components with actual furniture and body parts. Simple furniture such as tables and chairs are usually used in this type of film material, so make sure you have some on hand so you can recreate the scene.
• 5: Play with the settings: DeoVR lets you experiment with various parameters, including image size, location, pitch, hue and more. Although DeoVR's manual is helpful, you'll really have to figure most of it out on your own (per film) by experimenting. At some point, though, you'll be able to do that faster and faster!
• 6: Beware of "giants" and the "floating penis effect. In most AR porn, the actor is only partially visible through a blue screen. Part of your film can appear to be floating in space if it's not placed properly. This is sometimes pretty funny, but you mainly want to avoid it by aligning the video and adjusting the size and placement of the floating "object" until it's in the right place.
  Ditto for the female counterparts in the film. Make sure you have a good bowl or there will suddenly be a giant in your living room. Unless, of course, you're comfortable with that.
